Australia is known for its long coastlines, outback regions and modern cities. Before you travel, it’s important to know which power plugs, sockets, voltage and frequency are used there.
There, the main plug type I are used and the standard supply is 230 V at 50 Hz. You will need a travel adapter because the local plug types differ from those used in your home country. Most modern devices support 100–240 V.
Tip Australia uses type I sockets with angled flat pins. Many power strips have switches for each outlet, so make sure the switch is turned on or your devices will not charge.
